End of Summer, 2009
It is almost Labor Day, seems like the summer really rushed by this year. We took Vickie's mother to the Old Ky Home picnic area today, and enjoyed a picnic lunch of Lees Chicken. She is getting stronger after her surgery to remove a tumor in her head, but blood clots in her leg are causing some swelling.
Started my fourth online class at KCTCS for the library this past week. Today I was able to negotiate the mystery of using the Voice Box, which involved hooking up a mic to my laptop and submitting a spoken answer to a class question. This old dog learned a new trick! The class this semester is Kentucky Literature of Appalachia, taught by Martha Birchfield of BCTCS.
A few weekends ago, Vickie, Jenny and I took a sightseeing cruise on the Belle of Louisville. It was nice and a very needed restful afternoon.
